Wordle daily word puzzle

Thanks, sprout, I'll give it a try.

(In the meantime, following cnet instructions for downloading also appeared to fail, since the "official Wordle website" link just yielded the same old white page.  But right clicking on the blank page did download the game, and i seem to be back in business.)

Is this addiction-like, or what?!  Lost my history, but oh well.

Phew.

Just squeaked by today but my current streak remains alive

I've been trying to get under 3 minutes in the JamieSpace Jumble.  Usually I'm in the 4-6 minute range.

Here's what I got today - I doubt I'll beat this one:

JamieSpace Jumble Results

Word 3 - Solved in 4 tries in: 19 seconds

Hopefully one of these days I'll add a time penalty for missed words.  Also, add an archive with the ability to play previous days.  Keeping a record would be nice as well.  And showing the timer would be cool too.  The time starts as soon as you hit the page.

Is it possible to add a keyboard so we can see what letters we've used, and better visualise what else is available?

I'll admit I'm a relative latecomer to the JamieSpace Jumble, but this has me flummoxed!

If I've already found three of the five letters and they're in the right place, and the other two letters are valid but in the wrong place, and I've used both combinations, how come the game doesn't credit me with the correct answer?

no mine does not credit you if you have it in the right place.  We've discussed this before - it's the reason ml1 didn't like it.  cheese

Mine truly does go by the actual rules of wordle - blue shows a letter that's in the puzzle but in the wrong spot.  Once you get used to it, it's not so confusing.

I'll add the keyboard to the list.  A nice feature that makes it easier is that you don't need to use real word.  You can use any letters.

The times has a bot that analyzes your last wordle game. Kinda neat.

Interesting.

With today's glorious victory, my current Wordle streak matches my longest to date.

Will I beat my personal best tomorrow? I probably won’t bother to post that because I’m just too darn modest and humble.

OK, after months of playing Wordle, suddenly i have NO history, each day shows "how to play" and 0 past record.

This started a few days ago, on the tab i had kept open all this time (now showing nytimes.com as url), which previously had been keeping a record of my scores.  So after a couple of days with no history, i went to NYT site, searched for Wordle, played, and still 0 past record each day.  I'm logged into subscription on the Times, with games subscription too.  Mystified.

Any thoughts about this?

Cookies inadvertently cleared maybe?

Not sure if anyone has mentioned worldle- cool concept:

Yesterday I had a stunning result. I got no letters on my first guess, then correctly guessed the word with my second guess. The colors might look odd because I think my phone was in night mode.

Wow!

Ok.

Today’s Wordle was a remarkable intersection with the day’s big headline.

Remind me what it was, pls??

HI,

What has happened to the JamieSpace Jumble?  Last night thwere were only 3 puzzle with nos 3+4 blank.  Tonight first was no puzzle again.  Am I the only one that has noticed?  Commented?  Has it expired?

Ugh - I may have to add some more words!  Thanks for the heads up!!  I thought I was the only one playing.  grin  Stay tuned!

The other day - I got the wordle in two - first guess was steam - then I guessed broom.  I had a 1 in 16 chance at that point.

We're back - at the moment - there's 5 new words a day until January, 2025.

Hi,

Is there a way to pause the clock between words?  Several times I’ve been called away for a few minutes to find my next word took 5-7 extra minutes.

Thanks

There's no time pause at the moment.  I'll look into this when I revisit this.  I have a bunch of updates I would like to do - but haven't had time to do it recently.

I'm curious what start words people use -if you don't mind sharing your secret stash of words. I see Jamie used STEAM above. I like it, lots of vowels gets you somewhere quickly. I'll try it soon. I tend to use AUDIO, EARTH, BREAM and a few others.

I change my starting words every day.  I usually try to start with different vowels then was used the previous day.  You need to take chances to get the word in 2.  Overall - it's all luck and 99% of the time people can solve it.

btw - here's my results for this jumble today.

Mine vary. Stare, flour, abide, later, least, close, foist, ready... and many more. Depends on my mood and what the answer was the day before.
