Westfield family stalked by "The Watcher"

Couldn't they get the FBI/U.S. Postmaster to figure out where the letters are coming from? It is hard for me to imagine that with the amazing technology that's out there that this situation couldn't be solved.

THE LETTERS ARE COMING FROM INSIDE THE HOUSE!!!

Who watches The Watcher?

My grandfather ws on MOL back in the 90s and my father in the 00s. Now it's my turn.

It seems so simple. I mean, there is a house for sale a few blocks away. I could easily look up the address and find the owner's names. Any online search will show when the house is in contract and then after the closing, another simple search will give you the buyer's names. A quick FB search will likely show how many kids they have, if like many people, their profile pictures are public and contain their kids. And forget about the people who have public profiles! I mean, you don't have to be a psychopath stalker to dig up some pretty personal information on people these days. A ten year-old could come up with the same info. I'd get a big dog, some security cameras and call it a day.

I personally feel there must be a Federal law that makes absolutely totally illegal for anyone selling a house and or property to keep things from the pathetical buyers like there a man watching the house, the house is haunted, it is on top of a snake den ECT. All of these things must out in the open front and center. Anyone selling a house without disclose all of these things will not allowed to sell that house and or property. This way people will not end up like thia Family. I hope they can get all there money back. The previous owner should arrest for not telling pathetical buyers about the man watching the house.

Disclosure docs : "This house may or may not be haunted. Buyer takes all responsibility for any ghosts and paranormal activities that take place herein" smile

But the story is seriously creeeeeeepyyyyyy...

I agree. This has been happening for a year, and they haven't found him? Get the FBI on it. Hire a PI.

A Year? Sounds like a month...

Maria and Derek Broaddus began receiving letters last month - just days after closing on the $1.3million dream home in the idyllic community of Westfield.

I'm not sure it's that easy to trace something sent via regular USPS. Write a letter, stamp it and drop it in any of hundreds of post boxes in the area. Wear gloves and use water to seal the envelope (even if you licked it the chances your DNA are in a system somewhere that can be accessed by the police are pretty slim).

It took the FBI years to catch the Unabomber and he was actually killing people.

They closed on the house a year ago. I was able to find the address....but I don't want to post it...the tax office has the sale date as 5/30/14

The address is in the very first posting above from The Daily Mail.

The previous family lived there for 25 years. To me, that says it all. If the house was being stalked and the children threatened, as claimed in the letter, who the hell would stay there for more than two decades? Definitely a hoax.

This house was most definitely up for sake with an open house not too long ago. When the weather got nice and we were walking I yo town, we stopped in and looked at it. Must have been in April or so? The For Sale sign was on it until last month. It was a beautiful house.

Way too creepy though even if the house is gorgeous

so are sellers also supposed to divulge to potential buyers all the douche baggy neighbors too? where does it end.

I'm always up for sake too.

IANAL, but I believe they are to an extent. If the neighbor is one who, say, insists on blasting loud music all night or lobs melons at you from his yard, for example.

My husband has been signing texts to my teenager as "the Watcher"

It's probably going really cheap right now. Let's buy it and demolish it really slowly and see who shows up pissed off at us.

Can we instead do adaptive reuse? That will piss more people off.

Talks of a movie already. I wonder who gets paid? The family or the "The Watcher"??

Um, maybe if they had any clue who the Watcher is, they'd arrest him/her, but I somehow doubt they would reimburse him/her for the concept.

ETA: I still think the whole thing is bogus. If the previous owners were receiving letters, why on earth would they stay there for several decades? Clearly, they were not uncomfortable living there.
