Uni Kitchen is closed - Deli opening next

The current photo for this thread is the most unappetizing pile of food I've ever seen. It looks like an autopsy photo.

This is a great time to apply the rule, “If you don’t have anything nice to say, say nothing at all”.  Somebody is spending a lot of money to open a hopefully successful business.

I can't believe Fiore's in Hoboken didn't make the list ;-)

Thursday + Saturday — Roast Beef, Mozz + Gravy

This is where the photo comes from.

I look forward to trying it out!  Looks like online ordering is up and running!

Do they have a website yet? I haven't been able to find one.

then they should get a better effing photographer.

plus I think my criticism is helpful. It's a horrible photo.

Yes - pics don't do it justice at all - you can see a lot of roast beef pics here: https://www.yelp.com/biz/fiore-deli-of-hoboken-hoboken

But, if you ever had one - you'll won't forget it.

Here's one of the better pics.

Looks like what I would call a "german dip" - like a french dip but on a kaiser...

Yeah - they're normally is on a long roll - but if you look at any other pic - they're just as bad as my original one.  The reviews are pretty outstanding.

I do love me a french dip...

Since dboy reiterated, so will I: Your pic looks delicious to me.

Thank you.

I will give it a try this week.  Strange to see that three of the sandwiches are "out of stock."

They're soft opening this week.

I’m going to try this salad first. Even though my favorite place for salads is parkwood.

Chopped Mediterranean

Romaine, kale, artichokes, olives, chickpeas, cucumber, red onion, shaved parmesan, tomatoes, genoa salami, red wine vinaigrette

$13.00

Chopped Mediterranean

And for the cold sandwiches this…

The Central Park

Turkey, avocado, sharp cheddar cheese, cucumber, lettuce, tomato, honey mustard-mayo, ciabatta

$13.00

Or this…

The Cab

Grilled chicken, avocado, bacon, cheddar cheese, arugula, tomato, ranch, ciabatta

$13.50

Yeah I like avocado.

I went to day and had the Roast Beast - nice sandwich.  Online ordering was easy.  It was ready when I arrived.  I look forward to trying it again.

Tried Outer Borough today, and the Arthur Ave sandwich was really good. Price is up there at $16, but it was substantial. A lot of people (not me) could split it.

Got a Chopped Mediterranean salad to save for dinner. The menu photo made it look unusually small to me, but it’s fine. That’s the last time I’ll trust a dressing container for scale.

I want to try the Soprano, but oddly the one thing the order form won’t let you omit is the one thing I’d like the sandwich without — mayo. Next time I’ll ask for assistance.

Does everything come with mayo?

I'd like to see them try to pass off an Italian sub on President Street with mayo on it.

The answer is no. I wouldn’t have ordered the Arthur Ave, let alone rated it really good, if it had mayo.

Just enjoyed the roast beef sandwich a lot! Looking forward to trying the chicken Parmesan and meatball sandwiches.

I enjoyed the Roast Beast as well (got it with no onion, light mayo). Hubby ordered at the kiosk inside. I think he  said there was a place to write the 'light mayo' option in on the kiosk order.

I also tried hubby's 'plain' chicken salad. Was not my thing: There are sauteed onions in the chicken salad. As you can see from my order above, I tend to try to avoid those rapscallions.

Hubby took a photo of their pesto salad that he saw after he ordered. Might try that next time.

Got the prosciutto sandwich the other day.  Expensive but a very generous portion of tasty prosciutto.  Oddly, under "build your own" on the website ordering platform, prosciutto isn't an option.  I guess I'll have to order from a human for a change for future, customized sandwiches.
