U.K. government turns into circus just in time for Trump visit

Lost, that Politico article: ewwww. He’s really really sleazy. He’s getting off on all the protests and headlines and reactions, and he’s pushing for more. He’s worse than a classic wife beater, dictating what you can do then belting you for not following his exact orders then acting superficially sweet so you’ll try again to follow a new approved path then blaming the next failure on you and belting you over that and with interest...

This is just too creepy for words.

Especially that quoted para where he’s trying to explain how ‘lucky’ he is to be spending time with May, how they’re working closely together. My young nephew (who’s only just aware of girls) wouldn’t make that kind of remark.

He gave a nice little White Supremacist speech today.

Oh dear. I was reading a BBC article about a football song, and there was this sentence about this week's popular music charts:

"Green Day's American Idiot entered at number 25 after a campaign to get it back into the charts to coincide with President Trump's UK visit."

 Yes, it was so British.

Right!  Oh, I just wrote that at night, outraged by the Queen having Trump over for tea.  I really didn't mean it, and by "so" I really didn't mean to include all the British.

Why would you be outraged that a nonagenarian head of state would invite the president for tea?

I'm allowed to be, she's my Queen and I don't think his manners and ethics are fitting.

But you? You're proud of him, it's meant to be an honour to be in her presence. Why would you be outraged??

Tea and Crumpets

Trump and Trumpets.

So, in conclusion, Trump's visit to the UK was a nothing sandwich.

Not nothing. Trump really set the bar for boorishness.

I think Trump said it best:

you forgot what he said about the Queen, to paraphrase: 'she's a fantastic lady, I like her a lot'. 'She told me Brexit is very complicated, no-one thought it would be this complicated.'

*shudder*

"Her Majesty's a pretty nice girl...."

also, paraphrasing, Who knew health care could be so complicated?

Just from another planet (if only).

I'm on the the wrong iPad  to hit 'like', but you know I would if I could...( for some reason this older one won't respond to that. It's partly why I bought the newer one).

The mental image of him mansplaining Brexit or in fact anything to her just makes me want to throw up. Or throw something that will smash into a thousand pieces while I scream. For heaven's sake, she's only just handed over management of a confederation of 53 nations - which she's headed since the early '50s! - to an unanimously elected successor, and Trump's still crowing about he beat Clinton 18 months ago after which 'who knew being President was so hard?'!!

It's  one thing to not form a preconception of someone without first-hand info - I can understand why someone wants to do that. But when you're running an economy, not just your own business, and you're responsible for hundreds of millions of people, you need to do some homework and understand some history and some simple chess or backgammon strategies. He's so outplayed.

Well this is sad news.

Plus, I’m horrified at how much your government paid the golf club for the brief presidential visit.
