My husband was there earlier this week said his office had to be evacuated. He is in Japan now and said it's been non stop rain there too.
Hope all will be OK. think I read there will 3 storm systems coinciding, rather than one going over three countries.
This was a bit of a black eye for the HK weather observatory. They hoisted a level 3 typhoon warning yesterday morning, closing kindergartens and emptying grocery store shelves of milk and eggs. Then they declared a level 8 at the end of the workday, causing massive gridlock and public transit queues long enough to merit walking to your destination compared to walking to the end of the queue. Two hours later they dropped the level 8 warning.
As long as everyone's Ok, then it's a 'learning opportunity'.
Reading up more, sounds as if it got quite blowy! And the mainland seems to have a got blast.
Not looking too dry in Shanghai...
Last I read was winds up to 200 mph expected. Has that been lowered? That's about 320 kil.
Any typhoon is scary to me!!
Mind you, we're almost expecting snow not too far away from Brisbane so clearly something's up with the weather patterns.
Then there's that Indonesian volcano, which has grounded flights into and from Bali for few days. I know of at least eight people who are due home this weekend.
Latest news is that some flights are due to resume this afternoon, although there is a huge backlog of passengers to clear, with some people being told they may still have to wait for a few days before they can leave.
Stay safe, Dave! And anyone else over there!
