Weekend Update updated

I decided to go for it last night for last 2 acts and the weather held.  Tonight is looking less promising.

Weather is holding so far today.

The skies are looking ominous, there’s very heavy rain in PA moving east. It it holds up we might be in for some flooding. Hopefully it fizzles by the time it gets to 287, but if it doesn’t we have to clear out. Lightning is not a good thing in a crowded open space.

Flash flood warning here now.  Flash floods are a problem to our immediate west.  Could be touch and go to get the last act in before the heavy rain reaches us.

My husband was in North Brunswick. According to NWS, they had almost an inch of rain. Where he was they had light showers. Crazy weather pattern, but it definitely seems to be picking up.

The last band was cookin' when the lightning struck. Glad they got in a little bit of music.

Congrats to all of the Maplewoodstock organizers!   Incredible effort, as always.  Given the forecast, you got in much more music than I'd have guessed!

There was a horrific, lightning strike! I’m getting out of here!

I shot over to try to catch it after I saw the announcement about the (alleged) moved up start time of 6:48.  Got the 2 songs in before the lighting.  Whatever, its free and 5 minute from my house.  I caught the last song of the prior act, Q Tip Bandits, as we were coming in.  Boy did they sound great.  They're playing in Brooklyn in September and I will be checking that out.

Q-Tip Bandits are great.

Loved Q-Tip Bandits! And I thought this was the best weather in the 11 years I have been going, up until the lightning. Was Remember Jones skipped over or not there?

Remember Jones had to cancel due to the weather. Their stage set up, costumes, etc. make it extremely difficult to play in the rain. And they had to make the call at 4pm about going on and they canceled. That's why Cato's start time was moved up.

turned out it was the right call, because the lightning and downpour would have arrived in the middle of their set (about the time they would have been covering "Cult of Personality" grin  )

I was looking forward to seeing them. Oh well. Definitely ended up being the right call. The Q-Tip Bandits and Me & Nobody were my favorite acts yesterday, though I'm not a Grateful Dead fan and I ended up enjoying Workingman's Jed.

I didn't realize you were in the band. You were all good too grin I'll admit I missed some of the set. My wife's friend was doing reiki by the food vendors and I was "encouraged" to go see her as I was going for lunch.
