I think one of those pangrams is a made-up word. I use a different form of that expression. I'm barely past genius but that was because I tried that fake word just for kicks.

That's why I queried further up-thread what dictionary the setters might be using for their source of words. I've seen some words in their lists that are strange to me, and that not just the differences between American and English (Australian) English.

Upon further review, I was used to the word version meaning one of something versus this word's meaning of that thing being consistent or uniform. My bad.
I’m at 146 but only because my son is at 165. He’s tenacious and we are too competitive. Bad combination. Even if I know I can’t keep up.
Sigh!
Finally, with an hour to go before the bell, get to Genius stage - 28 words & 127 points! (Central letter 'I' round). Anything after this is just icing on the cake!
Ended up with 26 words and 118 points at amazing. In looking at the words I missed, I really don't feel that bad although I did miss a couple easy 4 letter ones.
Did just make it over the line to genius (for 6/1). I got a non-pangram to get me over, then saw a pangram that was just an extension of that one. Seeing the word list today, I totally missed the other pangram, and while bikefixed may have accepted it's a word I'm still unsure.
That was the first pangram I found. Thought it odd too.
Glad you gave me the opportunity to ask if we can set a new ground rule.
I propose making it OK to name and discuss the prior day’s words once the new puzzle is out.
What say you all?
Maybe a slightly longer buffer? Sometimes I don't get around to starting the bee until the evening, and leave the app open to try and finish up the next day. If I'm careful not to accidentally leave the bee, the previous puzzle still stays active on my phone. So, maybe noon of the next day?
I did! 3pm turnover for us is a good way to break up the day! 40 words so far on the 2 June puzzle.
The June 2 puzzle is coming along nicely for me too...reached Genius easily and am currently at 42 words/221 points.
I've set a new goal for myself for the days that I reach Genius. Since there's no way I can realistically expect to make QB (Amazing x 2), I've decided to aim for Great x 2. Maybe, I'll even call it Princess Bee
I did not find the questionable pangram yesterday, but my son is of the opinion that if a pangram seems iffy, there is usually a better, more legit one. Seems to be the case since I’ve been keeping it in mind.
yeah, I am not connecting with this puzzle at all.
