Ended up at QB-1.  I missed "boodle."

You're a lot closer than I am...QB -5 and feeling like I'm maxed out for the day...tough today is putting it mildly.

Me too.

Got the difficult ones but missed tiki and pothook (which autocorrect just made into two words).

Oh well…

never would have thought of pothook.  thought several times of photopic but apparently never tried it, still doubtful. 

is-it-or-isn't-it a compound word? hyphenated? can get interesting, or annoying.  i think i tried poptop 3 or 4 times, but yeah it doesn't look good written down.

second day in a row that I find myself at QB -4 

A word just popped into my head and I am QB-1, 4-letter word.

I will likely be spouting 4-letter words tomorrow because I looked for it earlier, knowing that there was one.

As to yesterday, I feel like people who don’t miss common words must have a better system than I do.

Nope. Missed robocall. Always miss robocall.

For eons I've encountered the crossword answer "adit" -- mine entrance. Today's spelling bee wouldn't accept it. SMH.

There are so many valid words that Spelling Bee doesn't accept - yet they are ok with so much casual spelling and internet slang. Guess it shows my age!
