THE GRATEFUL DEAD THREAD (JGB, FURTHUR, RATDOG, PHIL & FRIENDS, PHISH etc.)

2 friends & I during a workout Tuesday commented on how great it would be to have tickets to a real GD concert outdoors this summer as we are veterans of many. Could he have picked up scuba diving a little earlier ? As St Stephen was pumping through all 4.

go to Brooklyn...You will not be disappointed. 2 years ago when they played there the first time, Phil stepped to the mic and said, "Brooklyn, FINALLY!"
Crowd went nuts..

Just picked up tickets to see Further at Bethel Woods again this year.

Glad you saw it, Strawberry - and happy to repost.

The Wallingford show last Saturday was killer as always. Always happy to hear Terrapin. Only complaint is do they have to play "One More Saturday Night" as the encore for every Saturday show? It's gotten way too predictable.

No reports? Who's going tomorrow night?

Had a fantastic time at the Beacon last night. Not my favorite setlist, but phenomenal energy at the show--the audience and the band were rockin'.

Finished up my three show Beacon run last night. Man, the boys (and gal) are hot!! Can't wait until the summer swing!! By the way, fall tour has been announced for those interested. The Greek, Red Rocks and Vegas are just some of the stops!!!

Last night's setlist = fantastic! sorry I missed that one!

Hoping for some East Coast dates this fall...

For those into vinyls, this is just an amazing reissue.

The east coast summer tour began last night in Rhode Island. Psyched for Saturday in Philly. I remember thinking when getting my ticket for this years Philly show, "At least it won't be over 100 degrees like last year!". Not much of a break as the forecast is for 95.

Going to Brooklyn with Straw, can't wait.

Really liked the look of last nights show. The heat didn't get me last year and it won't this year! It's a double bill weekend as after coming home from Philly tonight I'm cruising up to Saratoga tomorrow to see Phish at SPAC.

To the left is my son in the black shirt with the circle, to the right.....Furthur in RI to kick off the summer!!!

Philly was great! 5 days to Brooklyn!

This was a highlight for me from Saturday. Only negatives were they shutdown outside vending for the second year in a row and the band went with the way too predictable One More Saturday Night as the encore. If they are going to play it, I wish they'd add a second song like the did in Atlantic City with Ripple.

OK, I tried to stay away from this thread, but it is physically IMPOSSIBLE. Thanks for posting the set list from 7/7 - I was in the 'hood' for that show, but sadly have missed the whole Further train and really have no interest in jumping on board. LOVE that picture you took of them sleeping, wharfrat.

So here is something I'm excited about - Dark Star Orchestra this Sunday at something called Rib Fest up here in Ra Cha Cha. Back to the music that never stops - I've heard an amazing bunch of solo acoustic Bobby on the Dead station lately (XM radio), anyone know where it's all from? He does a version of Hell in A bucket that sends chills down my spine.

Oh, by the way - 'kismet', the whole Dead Cover Project is awesome and there are a few bands that expand the horizons of the Dead. There is one with a woman lead singer on a bus that is breathtaking. It reminded me of that song Jackson Brown and David Lindley do on a bus from.......(name of that album is escaping me at the moment). I'll get back to you on this, because it's worth sharing here.

Monjay, bobby has some acoustic solo dates coming up. Check out ratdog.org.

They are also playing a similar event on Aug 11 in West Windsor, NJ. They have several bands playing during the day with DSO at the end. It features craft beer and 40' of grills cooking called the Ring of Fire. Sounds awesome!
