What's sad, is that's not even the most outrageous, bizarre, or even merely ridiculous example you could have picked to start a thread on "Today's GOP".
Texas Republicans didn't get the memo that Trump is no longer relevant. Anti-Trump Republican Michael Wood lost BADLY in this weekend's TX-06 special primary. "Those of us in the party who are against insurrection and lying are finding ourselves turned into fringe candidates. It's a sad commentary on the party. It's a sad commentary on the country." pic.twitter.com/2FN96SSDe8
The GOP is certainly in a tough situation - to Trump or not to Trump - this is the question.
I would recommend that those like Cheney or Romney leave the party and either temporarily join the Dems or become independent.
Some of the MSM - maybe on Maddow really called out some senators for bragging about new legislation that was recently passed - that they didn't vote for.
They're also going to be bragging about infrastructure soon after they vote No for it.
The Wall Street Journal Editorial Board calls bull caca on the GOP leadership's jihad against Liz Cheney.
So what happens if the GOP wins the majority of the House in 2022 but Liz and those who think like her are part of that Majority. Will they vote for Kevin McCarthy to be Speaker?

Yes.
Who will be purged next after Cheney? Is there a RINO list? Beside blocking the Biden agenda - what's their #1 piece of legislation to help their constituents?
Ted Cruz going for the brass ring by lying his punchable face off. Democrats want illegal aliens and non-citizens to be automatically registered to vote. That is wrong and they know it. But they are hell bent on doing it anyway so they can expand their voting base.
