How long ago did Russia recruit Trump?

A friend recently opined that Trump was in Putin's pocket and I mentioned a sh_t-load of actions by Trump against Putin's vital interests including these:

and asked my friend why he thought Putin waited to invade Ukraine until Trump was out of office. He said it was because Putin didn't want to embarrass Trump and wanted to cause problems for Biden.

He's a Dem who's part of the first two Dem majorities in this poll, but he's "not sure" about the third majority of Dems -->

You still don't get it. Trump's actions against Russia have nothing to do with this. Putin couldn't have cared less.

It's Trump's actions against the U.S. that matters. That's what makes Putin happy. And continue to.

do you walk around with blinders or what?

I'm going to guess 1996, his second trip.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Business_projects_of_Donald_Trump_in_Russia

Was it in 1992 or 1996 that he filed for bankruptcy and closed the Atlantic City casinos? I’m remembering that time frame, because a friend of mine worked at deutsche bank, and trump had approached them for a loan and it was rejected. No one else wanted to lend him money. Maybe someone else with more information can chime in.
That’s like 30 years ago! We’re getting old…

The Moscow Project is an initiative of the Center for American Progress Action Fund dedicated to analyzing the facts behind Trump’s collusion with Russia and communicating the findings to the public.

The Moscow Project’s team employs a multi-disciplinary approach towards its work, leveraging a unique combination of experience and expertise gained on Capitol Hill, at the State Department, and in private industry to examine this complex and sprawling series of events stretching back decades.

Yeah, and?

I you have something that questions their findings, post it.

Other wise, don't waste our time.

ETA: as I read this post, the stupider it becomes.

You're attacking CAP because they have people with experience at State and private industry?

total nan.

Will the Senate scrutinize Biden budget nominee Neera Tanden’s apparent pay-for-play foreign policy corruption?

As president of the Center for American Progress, Neera Tanden raked in whopping donations from repressive right-wing foreign governments while she advanced their hardline policy priorities in Washington. Will the Senate ask her about these sordid arrangements?

I guess I need to repeat myself:

Yeah, and?

That was a great read. I was off a few years with the deutsche bank info.
thanks for doing the research.

The Moscow Project is total propaganda--created by the same people/organizations who created Russiagate.  A quick peruse revealed multiple lies.

Nice graphics though--and the topic is an MOL crowd pleaser for sure.

Give me those "lies" please.

Have you ever listened to a single speech given by Trump?

Instead of trying to bring people together, Biden makes a speech where he insults half the country.  This is not what we need right now.

Of course I have. Not a fan. But he’s no longer president, despite living rent-free in many Democrats heads.

I’m tired of Democrats making everything about how horrible others are, especially Trump and his supporters. I want to hear a president talk about what they are doing to improve the lives of ordinary people. We would not be having so many social problems if we had better healthcare, affordable housing and education and better infrastructure. Instead we get condemnation and endless war. This is why far-right populists like Trump get elected. The Democrats do nothing to change those conditions.

I expect our next President to be either  Trump or someone worse.

your analysis of American politics is on par with your analysis of the Russian Invasion of Ukraine.

I’m thinking trumpenstein initially wasn’t dealing with Putin. It was the oligarchs with lots of cash, who wanted to get the money out of Russia. He provided opportunities for them to buy into the American real estate market. He basically sold out America in every opportunity he had in order to make money. He conned everyone, including Putin. Seems as though he worked his poison on some of the radical leftists also.
If your moral compass is functional there’s no way you can even find a way to rationalize why he is the way he is. Putin and trumpenstein can not share the same spotlight… that’s why they’re both dangerous people.

They both think they’re smarter than the rest of the world, because they have discovered how gullible most people are.

Who among us doesn't like a good "I have a friend who's a Democrat" story?

Me neither, but it did not surprise me.  It's a Neera Tandon project (Dem think tank)--she's BFF with HIllary and the Democrats so they probably felt it was time/money well spent.  Needed to bolster the Russiagate claims for anyone who had doubts.  Looks like drummerboy and perhaps some others fell hook, line, and sinker.

Back to Russiagate where Nan magically determines what Democrats think of Trump and Russia and then proceeds to explain everything based on what she imagines to be real.

You get your information from the neocon ISW propaganda farm.  You have zero credibility as far as truth goes.

Zaz suddenly cares about truth.   LOL.   Zazworld!

Interesting to see how this plays out. Putin has a very good recruiting network, it seems.

Recruit or die.

This is just an odd story: https://www.cnn.com/interactive/2023/12/politics/missing-russia-intelligence-trump-dg/

You would that there would be a back up before you hand any Russia info over to *rump.

Multiple copies of the redacted binder were created inside the White House, with plans to distribute them across Washington to Republicans in Congress and right-wing journalists.

Instead, copies initially sent out were frantically retrieved at the direction of White House lawyers demanding additional redactions.

Just minutes before Joe Biden was inaugurated, Meadows rushed to the Justice Department to hand-deliver a redacted copy for a last review. Years later, the Justice Department has yet to release all of the documents, despite Trump’s declassification order. Additional copies with varying levels of redactions ended up at the National Archives.

But an unredacted version of the binder containing the classified raw intelligence went missing amid the chaotic final hours of the Trump White House. The circumstances surrounding its disappearance remain shrouded in mystery.

Imagine if this happened when Obama was POTUS.  The Republicans would have had a dozen investigations by now.
