Richard Thompson at NJPAC, 4/22/15

Or any reasonable offer?

@bak, are your tix still available?

darn. thanks for the quick response!

We're going on Sunday, specifically to see Teddy, but Richard sounds nice too cheese

Looking for an extra ticket for tonight. Anybody?

call the box office-they may have some single seats

They don't, thanks.

Was it just me, or did RT seem impressed with how rabid and well-informed his fans are in "Orange"? It would be great if SOPAC could become a destination for singer/songwriter type acts. The audience is here.

SOPAC has always gotten good acts, which is not surprising giving its proximity to NY. In recent months, the lineup has been especially strong. New artistic director, I think.

Loved the show last night! I can't get over the change in acts at SOPAC, all to my liking. "Good job" to whoever took over.

I agree. There are a couple more SOPAC shows I'd like to see, and that makes me curious about and willing to check out acts on the schedule that I am not familiar with.

Love RT, great show overall. Did not realize what a golden voice Jr. had. Only knew him before from his duet with dad on "Persuasion". In comparison, RT seemed to be struggling at times with the vocals. He's not a youngster.

I discovered Teddy from his cover of The Future from the Leonard Cohen tribute album. I didn't learn who his father was until years later.

Steve Lurie from Music Without Borders is the new booking agent. He also books Tarrrytown Music hall and Naked Soul at the Rubin, a great museum of Himalayan Art. This is the reason why the acts have vastly improved. SOPAC is roughly half the size of Tarrytown. It seems that the performers all like the venue, the intimacy and the sound. Any of you who attended the JR show will know what I mean.

Long before the new booking agent arrived, Steve Earle, Marc Cohen, Kelly Willis, Christian McBride, Joshua Redman, etc., played there. What's different now is the frequency of the quality acts.

Loved the show, loved the music - and there were only two songs that RT played that I already knew. I'm going to be listening to a lot more of his music. Teddy is a cutie, has a great voice, and is proficient, to be sure, but his songs just weren't as captivating as his father's. The two of them sound beautiful together.

(It was also pretty cool seeing so many familiar and friendly faces last night.)

apart from his great skill as a guitarist, he's one of those acid wit, literate songwriters that the Brits seem to produce more of than we do (e.g. Nick Lowe, Elvis Costello).

Wish I could have been there. Would love to see what the set list was like...

Thanks for posting the set list for the first night. I went on Saturday night and very much enjoyed the concert. Here is a set list for Sunday night that I found on the web.

On Saturday night Richard and Teddy nailed the harmonies of the Everly Brothers song.

Here is a review of Sunday night's concert. It has some interesting discussion of The Grey Funnel Line, the song that Billw was unsure of (as was I) and that closed both nights.

That's a nice writeup. I've seen RT more times than I can count, and Saturday night's show was one of the best I've seen--but after reading that, I'm really sorry I didn't go Sunday too. I would have absolutely loved to see him do "Down Where the Drunkards Roll" and "For Shame of Doing Wrong."

RT will be appearing at NJPAC on 4/22. Oddly, tickets are not on sale yet.

That's weird! Please keep us posted.

They are on sale here.

Funny, that's where I was looking. I guess they got it together since then.
