Except when you can't. If you tried to watch the TC meeting last night via YouTube, it was impossible to see or hear what was going on. Does anyone know if the problems were finally resolved?
That's a real bummer. Did the TV have a better feed? Maybe they'll upload that one if it exists.

There was no indication of a TV viewing option. Closed captioning did not improve as the meeting went on. I have emailed my contact on the TC and asked the Communication Committee to look into this. Quality of the program recording is unacceptable.
I fast-forwarded through the session. The technical set-up did not work. The camera and mic were positioned too far away from the proceedings. You can barely see or hear anyone. Hope they can make adjustments before the next meeting.

I have noticed that for quite some time, one of the reasons I just don’t watch it anymore.
Sound on this recording was much better than the product resulting from the last TC meeting. There were still problems hearing speakers addressing the TC, especially at the start of the meeting during the first public comment period and during the CFO's explanation of budget alternatives. Strangely, the quality of sound and CC on this recording is much better than what I was able to see and hear on my tablet. Hopefully, quality will improve going forward. This is still a work in progress.

Due to insufficient bandwidth, the Maplewood Township Committee meeting livestream for this evening has been canceled. The meeting is being recorded and will be posted to the Township’s YouTube channel following adjournment. We sincerely apologize for this inconvenience.
Recording is supposed to be up shortly if it is not already. At least they sent out a notification this time. With a public hearing on a controversial topic where concerned persons expected to be able to raise comments remotely via email, one would think the livestream equipment would have been tested in advance. How is it that people can livestream events with their phone but the town can’t find a way to livestream a public meeting? This is the third fail of three attempts. Prior to COVID there was no such problem.

... or get SOMA TV to broadcast the meetings as was done previously and then put the resulting tape on YouTube. Livestream is not working and there are other alternatives available.
The promised recording is now up on YouTube however, it is incomplete and does not have any video. Missing is the 1st Public Comment Period, portions of the Board of Health meeting and who knows what else. It is audio only, no video which means listeners are unable to see the slides referred to in the Board of Health presentation or any other visual aides that may have been presented during the meeting.

Yeah - I'm tempted to just go there and film it myself. Not sure how helpful I would be improving the bandwidth. What an odd issue - seems like a call to their service provider would be step #1.

if you could produce an intelligible video and post it live on MOL, readership on MOL would go way up once the word got out. This might help answer a question you posed on another thread.
well, I wouldn't plan on posting it live (I don't have the bandwidth for this) - but it would at least be legible, and I'd try to get it up the following day.

I just learned that TC meetings are back on zoom until technical issues with remote access to live meetings can be fully resolved. Source is a TC member.

I have been told that the earlier part of the meeting was recorded too but the recording for that portion of the meeting is not yet available. I assume it was made on a different device.
Does this mean the TC has given up on in-person meetings for the rest of 2023?
