Maplewood Township Committee Meetings

Last night's meeting:

Everyone should listen to this meeting as it tells of the heroes of the Ida storm. Also to hear of the brave citizen on Maple Terrace who was swept away . Also the parents of a Maplewood resident who were swept away returning from their teaching jobs at Iona College. It is hard to believe. Candice Davenport had new and interesting info on Covid in Maplewood.

Does Maplewood TC have any plans to meet in person, or is online the new norm?

Look and listen to the last township meeting!  Everyone wants to find out about the Maplewood Theater. It's all here at the end of the meeting with a special meeting. I found it fascinating and Roger Desiderio was great as usual.

Seemed pretty unfair treatment was given to the applicant of the liquor license.  They simply denied without giving any reason.  How does TC expect the business owner to re-open if they do not do their part?  Aren't they elected to make these decisions?

The Liquor license discussion started at the 2:07 mark.

There was no motion to vote. It was pretty obvious that they needed a better plan in place with possible backers to make it happen.  Everything was a bit vague.  I'm guessing that they can regroup and try again.

there was plenty of reason.  There was no business plan in place, and they want the license to be put to use quickly, not in a few years.

I don't think a business plan is required (the ABC or their attorney would have simply stated such).  Rather, it appeared that the document the lawyer was waiving at the camera (and which no one on the ABC nor township employees had possession of) didn't have the same force as being sent attached to an actual application.  In short, a Zoom issue.
