After 12 years we had to say goodbye to our sweet Snoofy this morning. She would have been 15 in May.
She was rescued from a home where the woman who owned her was dying from cancer. Snoofy was a really skittish pup. She warmed up to us very quickly and lost most of the yappiness. She slept with us in bed every night and when Monty came along she tolerated him.
I knew back in June that her heart was going and she took a turn for the worst about 2 weeks ago. We tried some medications in the hope that she would stabilize but she was just too weak. I feel better knowing we did the right thing at the right time.
Monty will be coronated the new king of the castle in a private ceremony later today.....
So very, very sorry for your loss. What a lucky doggy to have known such love...
Oh Fabulouswalls and Smoochie, I know Snoofy had a good, long and cherished life, with you. I am so sorry she is gone. I know how painful this is. Thank you for loving her so much that you did the kindest act of all.
Thank you Calli. It's been a rough few weeks. I'm glad Monty is hardly bothered by it. He was irked more by our sadness than anything else.

So sorry to hear this. "> Almost 15 is pretty good, though, right?
Thank you.
Yes, almost 15 is great. I also knew the day would be coming sooner than later. Nothing can prepare anyone for the end. We miss her a lot but we also have our lives back in many ways. And we still have Monty who hasn't missed a beat.

You have no idea. He is a big mush. We had them groomed yesterday and brought them to work with us. Monty played with a few of my customers and their kids. He was rolling on the floor and having a good time. Best Rescue Ever!!
