Yes, it's true. And her kids are in school and classes with our kids. And they happen to be Bob Marley's grand kids too btw. So what's the big deal?
I've been to her new house. We decorated for her and her mother many years ago in their old homes.

Interesting list. I had no idea about Mark Rudd being an alumni.
Mark Rudd came back and spoke at the high school a few years ago. He started his speech by commenting on how weird he felt being there again.
Mark Rudd lived on Jefferson between Woodland and Maplewood Ave, one of those newer ranches.

My daughter tells me that it feels weird being there again and she is still in college. I think it is just one of those "time of your life" things.
I remember in 1981 being heavily involved in one of the few Board Of Ed elections in my experience and having a long conversation with a very nice lady. As she was leaving she introduced her self as Mark Rudd's mom.
Yes. She rented a home a street over from ours a few years ago. Her daughter went to school with my son.
To the OP: there are several celebrities who have lived or currently live in the area. Many weren't "attracted" here. They just grew up here , you know, normal like. Why is this thread so embarrassing
He was friends with my brother.

Zach Braff was just back here this week, inducted into the CHS Hall of Fame
I've seen Kelly Bishop around town (not recently tho), but when my oldest was an infant, I would see her on occasion at Ashley Market (when it used to be Eden). She once told me how cute my daughter was.

That's great. . . That would have been a huge deal if that happened to me and my wife (I am a bit of a Gillie).
SIDE NOTE: My wife ran into Dionne Warwick in the South Orange Pathmark a few years ago.
Funny, when I saw Mark Rudd above I was picturing the actor, Paul Rudd. Two very different guys...

There's a big Gilmore Girls reunion this weekend at the Austin Television Festival that they're streaming on EW.com. Nearly every living cast member will be there.

One major exception. . . Suki. Who would have thought when this show aired that Melissa McCarthy would become the biggest star of the bunch?
Why embarrassing? Whatever, people are curious. I certainly was when I first moved into the area. It (SO, M) is attracting a lot of theater people, btw for the proximity to NYC, home prices, schools, diversity, stock of welcoming, thoughtful and creative people.

Didn't Jon Voight live in Maplewood at one time?
Are you sure you aren't thinking of John Davidson? He and his family were in South Orange for a few years but have since moved.

You weren't the only one. Thanks, sprout. I appreciated the excuse to learn a little about the man.
Next up: Mark Ruffalo.
You'd be amazed at how many talented folks were raised here... or, if you've seen any of the high school productions, perhaps not so amazed. SOMAP has produced not only actors and musicians, but also writers, producers, directors, and folks with behind the scenes jobs.
Here's more. . .
