House under construction on Maplewood Avenue

I think you just like finding things to be grumpy about.  I'll go enjoy a beer after they open.

Invitation only is a private party, not a grand opening. Have the private party and then have a grand opening. Invitation only "grand opening" sends the wrong message, in my opinion.

Congratulations on receiving an invitation, and therein confirming its use of the term “grand opening.”

I didn't get an invite. I was referring to Karen Marlowe's post.

The internet never fails to deliver a silly objection about an establishment that isn't even open yet.

But seriously though, how much will the burgers be?

Grand Opening is on November 2nd. (Invite only.)

Wasn't the beer garden (not sure if that refers to the entire structure) not scheduled to open until Summer 2023?  They may be ahead of schedule.

It's usually permits & codes that stop or slow things down.  But in that case I'd expect the town's enforcement to be what delays a schedule.  Also, these bldgs are probably 100+ yrs old.  We can hope the extra time is being spent updating & preserving what's historic, not  just building new, cheap & fast.  Not familar w/ which Maplewood Ave house is being worked on.

i guess you don't live here.  The restoration of the exterior has been outstanding.  First rate work.  The inside, while very different, is extremely well done.l

Which building do you mean? Old Town Hall? Or the house on Maplewood Ave?   (BTW, lived 25 yrs in M'w; @5 yrs in SO, now about 4 1/2 in EO...[not Harrison Park Towers].

The house on Maplewood Ave that has been under construction for MORE THAN 3 YEARS now has a modern blue sculpture on the front lawn. I love modern sculpture - but to my eye it looks out of place in front of a 100+ year old house in a residential neighborhood.

The work on the beer garden in South Orange has been ongoing for probably at least three years.

Grand Opening is on November 2nd. (Invite only.)

I called and there is "no date yet" for the opening.

They have one 5 star review on Google so far:

Is that a review of the house or the biergarten?

Lots of photos circulating online from last night's private "Grand Opening."  The date for the actual grand opening has not been announced yet.
