When's the last time there was a SOMA Slice-off?

South Orange has:
Trattoria
Bunnys
Reservoir
Pirate's Pizza
La Vera
(Who am I missing?)

Maplewood has:
Roman Gourmet
Maplewood Pizzeria
Trattoria
Arturo's I suppose but nobody goes there anymore it's too crowded
There's Dominos and Papa John's. I'll throw those in for people who like to rant about chains.

Am I forgetting any place on Springfield Ave? I know there's lots of places to eat down that way.

Ha - nobody goes to Arturo’s anymore because it’s too crowded?  You must be channeling your inner Yogi Berra!

we had really not great service and the bathroom was awfully dirty. won't be back.

Where?

Pizza variations are a matter of personal taste, not better or best.  Around here, nearly all of the pizza is pretty great (or they don't stay in business, given the level of pizza-making here), so you go with the places that make the type of pizza you like.  But I think these rankings and competitions are silly.

I concur about the need for a more authoritative source of guidance on this topic; however, since the Oracle Of MOL has retired from handicapping, I suppose that an actual Pizza Derby is the only way to put the issue to rest... Ironically, I'm disqualified from voting unless West Orange pizzerias are admitted as contestants...

Nevertheless:
