I bought a car 20 years ago through the Costco program. It was not a bad experience. These days I think you might be better off using true car and negotiating from there.
Update, for what it's worth: my husband and I bought our Honda CR-V this morning, via Costco auto. We felt like we got a fair price, the process was very smooth, and we had zero complaints. I was pleasantly surprised. Then again, neither one of us has the temperament to really want to haggle, so the process was perfect. :

This was pretty much my recent experience with the Costco program last month. I bought a Toyota Highlander and it got us a better price offer AND closest vehicle to our specs of any of the several online avenues we pursued.

Has anyone here bought a car via Costco Auto? What did you think of the experience? Do you feel that you got a good deal? Or do you think that you got ripped off anyway, or were otherwise underwhelmed?
Bonus points if you bought a Honda CR-V via Costco Auto and tell me about it.
Thanks! (Beep beep!)
