CHS's wonderful production of Ragtime garners 15 Rising Star award nominations

The Paper Mill Playhouse has announced the nominations for their 2015 Rising Star Awards -- http://papermill.org/education/rising-star-awards/award-nominees.html -- for northern NJ high school musical productions, and Columbia's production of Ragtime got 15 nominations!   This includes Outstanding Overall Production of a Musical, Outstanding Performance by an Actress in a Leading Role (Ali Pease), Outstanding Performance by an Actor in a Leading Role (Isaiah Thomas), and 12 others in Direction (Tricia & Bethany), Orchestra (Mr. Bauer!), Costuming, Choreography, Lighting, Costumes, and more.   It looks like the only school that received more nominations was Union, with 17.

If you didn't see it, you missed an amazing production.  Checkout the comments on MOL here: http://maplewood.worldwebs.com/search?query=ragtime+

That's wonderful news!  Congrats to all involved with this production.

Very well deserved!

Wow! Very impressive - I'm very happy for the cast and crew of Ragtime.

Congratulations to the Ragtime company!  You bring honor to Columbia!  And good theatre, too!

I brought some Summit people to see Ragtime (Summit High always snags multiple Rising Star nominations and is a frequent winner).   They were sufficiently blown away by our production.

Since Columbia is nominated for best production, they will get to perform at the awards show on June 2nd.  It will be an exciting night!  Best of luck (or break legs!).  It is indeed an honor to be nominated, but I'm sure we will come away with a few trophies!

It was an amazing production ..just wishing for the best on June 2 to all those receiving nominations .

Hope you are all flying high .. Your hard work is well rewarded .
