A director or producer, or similar?

Keep guessing you have really narrowed it down.

well, I'm late (soo many things on this week) but I always leap to Bertolt Brecht. Pls forgive any misspellings, still working off anaesthesia.

Hope you are feeling OK. No to Brecht.

Mr B was not Italian or French. How about German?

are we thinking of ingmar Bergman?

That is exactly who we are thinking of! You win the round!

tongue rolleye cheese Again???

Gosh, that doesn't seem fair!

Ok. I'm going for someone who might seem a bit obscure, sorry. Just caught my fancy! L

OOOO, sounds like I'm going to need help!

Female L?

Male L?

Well done in the previous round, too, by the way.

Aye, a male indeed!

-Mad Red Tess,

Cap'n, Th' Aweful Buccanneer o'Hell

As a lifelong fan of Captain Hook and Adam Ant, I say Hoist the Jolly Roger!

Would we be now following Jean Lafitte?

Arrr!

But nay, ye'll need ter guess agin - tis nae that worthy.

Is our mystery man still raising L?

Is or was this male a USian?

Is Mr. L in the arts?

In other words, is he still with us?

Mr L is European, as in IS European. Not was European.

I've learnt about him and his work through the Arts, although it's a specialised techy aspect.

Does Mr L's work involve the use of computers to a fair degree?

Well, I guess so. But that's not what he's known for. Much cleverer and more arty-farty involved than that. In a way. (As you can tell, it's hard to explain without giving it away. ) (and yes, there's an obscure NJ link too)

Would Mr. L have anything to do with animation?

good question!

I don't think we'd think of him being involved in this area.

Visual arts? (as opposed to performance arts)

in fact, mr L's work is known for its impact on both visual and performing arts. But he doesn't create in these fields.

Does his involvement have any political motivation? I'm thinking of art installations that publicize environmental issues.

Oh, very clever! Pity it's wrong. But good thinking! snake

We'll have some more ideas like that, thanks. grin
