BBC Sherlock Holmes Fans

game of thrones....sorry, i love that show!

Hmmm...perhaps. I haven't been as taken with a show as I've been with House in awhile. I was a big "Alias" fan, and many moons ago, "Murphy Brown." Now, I dunno.

The only thing I can think of is that it almost seemed like Sherlock was timing things….delaying Watson with the Mrs. Hudson scare, then watching from the roof as we notice passersby, then telling Watson to look up. Could the gathering crowd (who briefly cut off Watson’s view) have been his homeless crew and a quick body-switch done then? Rather quick arrival of the stretcher… (Strings behind Sherlock’s back, stopping him short of the sidewalk?) LOTS of planning??!! Why did he tell John that he's a fake? I’m out of ideas. Wow.

Also the garbage truck....could he have fallen onto that?

Oooo, interesting thoughts here, also jurassicpark's garbage truck idea. And that's a stroke of genius, that all the people could have been the homeless network. H'mmm. And you're absolutely right about the delaying tactic of the Mrs. Hudson scare. Too much to think about! smile

Good thing I'll be seeing Martin Freeman in The Hobbit before too long. I am getting hooked on these two actors.

Him and Benedict will be in The Hobbit....although the latter will be doing the voice of a character....but still cheese

Who's Cumberbatch playing? The dragon?

Hah! That's funny... I guessed exactly right, before I went off to do the google. oh oh

Good work Sherlock cheese

Finally finished it, now I'm saying exactly the same thing. How utterly infuriating!

I too find BC absolutely gorgeous. And what really fries me is that he is buddies with David Tennant of Dr. Who fame (who is also a total babe) and was asked to be the Dr. when DT left. Sadly, he said no, which left us with the callow youth whose name I always forget, oh yeah, Matt Smith.

If you haven't already seen them...

There's also a fan campaign to "protest" what "the media" has been saying about our hero:

The Maplewood Library has the first season DVD, with one of those 'comments over the episode' by BC, Martin Freeman and, can't remember, perhaps writer/director whatever. (The disc also has the straight episodes.) Best parts: BC saying "I'm Alan Rickman" and "My neck doesn't 'work.' "

I just went back and watched the first episode, the one about the woman in the pink suit and the cabby who is dying and lets Moriarty put him up to a series of forced suicides to attract Sherlock's attention. It answered a lot of questions for me about Watson and why he's gotten sucked into Sherlock's orbit. Interesting stuff I had forgotten. Now I'll have to watch the others, too.

I think they're doing a great job with Watson. Freeman plays him as still an intelligent person, not on par with Sherlock, but he isn't just a sidekick. He's useful and he and Sherlock compliment each other. Never really questioned why Watson would stick around or why he puts up with it, ya know? They're a great duo

Rewatched the finale and remembered the "IOU" references (the carved apple, the scrawling on the windows). This one was a blink-and-you-miss-it during the last few minutes, making me wonder if there's more to it.

As John discovers that Mrs. Hudson is okay and calls a cab to get back to Sherlock, we see this for a split-second in the background:

Oh, holy cow. question

GOOD catch!!!!!

Yowsa! Good one. I started re-watching that episode last night. I'll look for more.

I love Martin Freeman in this:

I noticed that too Project! Sneaky little fella that Moriarty

Also, thought you'd all like to know the actor who plays M., Andrew Scott, won a Bafta over the weekend for the role! Beat Martin Freeman, but Freeman DID win last year and will likely continue to keep on winning since M is gone

I will follow Mr. Cumberbatch to the Enterprise!

Just finished watching all six episodes... I thought they just got better and better with each episode and the Season 2 finale more than made up for the Hound of the Baskervilles... Perfect series for being snowed in grin Can't wait for Season 3...

I think the title of this thread needs to be changed. I keep on thinking the show is going to start up again whenever a new post is added and the thread gets a bump. Then I get all excited about nothing. gulp

And I also can't wait for Season 3!!!!! Can you tell?

I changed the title a bit, PeggyC. Does this help?

Oddly enough, Matt Smith had originally auditioned for Watson at the same time that they were casting for Doctor Who!

That's a drag, but I'm sure that the wait will be worth it. I don't think that they've mentioned which stories will be adapted next. "The Speckled Band" is one that I really enjoyed, but it was already referenced as a throwaway joke last season (One of John's blog entries was entitled, "The Speckled Blonde" grin) ).

Oh, thank you! My goodness, what prompt service this restaurant offers. smile

However, I do think Benedict Cummberbatch and Martin Freeman need to become just a tiny bit LESS popular! We need more Sherlock!!!!!!
