I saw a post of the menu on Springfield Ave Partnership on that other social media site. I "borrowed" it.
ETA: Said it opened at noon.

Has to have steaks and a couple of parmas to qualify as a pub, in my opinion!
Along with a good range of beer and other drinks - both alcoholic and non-alcoholic.

What makes it a pub is that it is a drinking establishment with food. A diner would have a much more extensive menu.
But don't think I am unappreciative of the classic MOL move of criticizing the menu before the place even opens
Coming soon…the two words widely used in this region of Essex County…
I don’t think there’s space on the sidewalk for the pub patrons to congregate outside to smoke or to start swinging with closed fists…
The burger with fries at $16 is promising. That’s one of the most reasonable examples of that particular pub standard. Especially since you can get substitute onion rings (if you feel like you need a vegetable) at the same price.
To be fair this looks like it might be a soft opening menu. It looks family-friendly in terms of what’s available. Maybe they’ll add some more dishes, like steaks or fish as they get up and running. But either way I think they deserve a chance to get established.
It’s very possible that they are just trying to get the doors open to start bringing in revenue as they continue to refine the menu. Starting up a restaurant is a costly endeavor!
The prices are really fare. I think the knee jerk reaction is comparing the menu with St James Gate. But if the service is good, the beer is cold and the food is consistent - they should be fine. To me the purpose of a pub is to serve a neighborhood and there hasn't been much in that part of town for quite a while.

In a diner, you have to squint at the menu because of the density. In a pub, you have to squint at the menu because of the lighting.
family friendly = urchins running around + noise.
ADD -- marble, granite and "no wood" = bad acoustics. I probably wouldn't be able to hear the person sitting next to me.

What are you talking about? I was talking about the menu. You could feed a family of 4 for $100-125 or so.
And where are you getting the bad acoustics from? Is there a picture of the inside I didn’t see?
Sheesh what a grouch.

From Village Green article. The decor is industrial hard. Stone material and no soft material to absorb sound. This is the sparse, "industrial" restaurant motif of the last 15 years. Locally, Spot Diner and Artie's.
Pub wise, it is purposely designed to keep older people out. Young'uns can tolerate the sound and older folks can't. Bars want to appeal to younger customers.

Double the decibels for night clubs playing electronic trance music. No desire to go to any of the above.

So get out sometime .. visit the actual establishment. Give it a chance. Talk to the owners give feedback before complaining on a community site about an experience you haven’t had. Bring said companion to bar.. comment from there if so.. otherwise .. wow
When you get to be an old fart who has had a hearing impairment for some years you will know where he is coming from.
Try it sometime.

Perhaps that is your opinion, but I love them ... despite my having grown up in Texas Sloppy Joe (manwich style) land. I can't wait to see how they compare to other favorite Joes.
total BS about the noise. Here now. Quiet. Great wings, burger, fries, and chicken savoy. James Taylor and Dave Mathews playing softly. Seems like some folks just want to complain.
I got an Apple Watch for Christmas. Great present even though it was a little extravagant. I took a shower this evening and got a warning of high decibel levels. I hadn’t noticed it was loud but it makes me want to put down a mat…

Those wings look a little lean.

30 seconds later and they were leaner.
