Achievements of the Day: Post something you did today that made you proud!

KMK and everybody else,
This is one of favorite threads.
Knowing MOLers I think it should one of the most posted to... False modesty is just as false bragging. So let's hear for US. You really good. Now get busy telling us more.
Thanks,
Apollo T.

I started cleaning my attic tonight. In one hour I have 3 bags of garbage, 4 bags of donations and 2 boxes of books! Go me! My uncle's church is having a rummage sale in May and I promised I would donate stuff. Everyone wins. oh oh

All that in ONE hr???
Good on you!!

I managed to hold on to my bride for 31 years to the day.

And for THAT, congratulations are in order!

Thank you Apollo T.! My attic looks like something from "Hoarders " so I have a huge job ahead of me. Now I'm off to begin again!

I hosted a hotel sleepover for 7 fourth, fifth and sixth grade girls and have not yelled once. it helped that it's a 2 bedroom suite, I have my own king size bed and bathroom. My almost 10 year old woke me at 7:45 so we could go to the bkfst buffet. I am proud that I made my daughter and her friends happy.

I posted this to facebook this morning, but will post here too b/c it made me happy: this morning my youngest (7) asked for poached eggs and toast for breakfast (I used my fab Poaching Pods from Kitchen a la Mode) - when I served him he said, "this is a meal I will never forget" ♥ Made my day and it's still morning!

Two thoughts -

1. FANTASTIC!!!!! We're working on getting there ourselves.

2. But, why are you online at that time. Didn't you have something else (*cough* *cough*) to do?

@nohero, Thanks for number 1! Regarding number 2, I took the liberty of showing your comment to Mrs. Mountainhouse. The lump on my head (from the rolling pin) should be gone within a couple of months. confused

I managed to get through 15 minutes on my new(ish) elliptical. This is the fifth time I've used it in the six days it's been up, and I'm adding to my time every day. After more than two years of illness-related sedentary life, this feels pretty good. In addition, I'm still sticking to my new lifestyle food plan, with very few exceptions.

Oh, and HAPPY 31st ANNIVERSARY to Mountainhouse and Mrs. Mountainhouse! snake

peggy, that's great! it gets easier every day.

I just finished my last freelance project, in time to start my new job next week.

I am officially a recovered lawyer oh oh

Hey! That's great news. Glad to hear you (and it) are holding up well.

Thank you PeggyC (and Apollo T., and metaphysician).

And Peggy, good for you! Steady as you go.

A few hours after my elliptical success, I managed 15 minutes of a yoga routine, too. Yay, me. Maybe the fat will start disappearing from my face in a few weeks! smile

Worked out at the gym for an hour -- and didn't come home and eat the Easter candy. Had a nice bowl of vanilla greek yogurt with blueberries and a crumbled up graham cracker, my latest favorite snack.

CG,
I like the crunch of a little bit of Grape Nuts in my yogurt.

Good idea! And I've always liked Grapenuts; I should pick some up. What blows my mind about the graham cracker is I swear the result tastes like cheesecake, w/graham cracker crust!

Hey, I'm always lookin' for tasty ways to emulate my weakness for high fat dairy. Now, what can I have that tastes like Brie?

Hmmm, I don't like yogurt but I would like to like it. This may be the incentive to try again. Congrats on not eating the Easter candy. I was thinking about my stash this morning but instead I ate a frozen dinner from Trader Jo's, which is my accomplishment of the day. Especially since I had to go out and buy it while the candy was under my nose.

Try the Greek type in vanilla. It's very creamy -- it might do it for you if the usual kinds don't. Also, some folks don't like tangyness, and if you're not adverse to Truvia and stuff like that, consider sprinkling a little on it.

Greek vanilla, or trader joes/stony field whole milk vanilla or plain. Yum.

Lisat,
Just look for some commercially made reg yogurt - like Dannon- in flavors that have some appeal. Start there and add things to enhance. There's no law preventing improvements
CG,
Try cottage cheese w/ diff flavored jelly and the aforementioned Grape Nuts. OK, riccotta if you must.

BTW, ladies Dannon makes a cheesecake yogurt.

I love ricotta. Cottage cheese, only if it's the small curd creamy. It ain't Brie, though.
