Achievements of the Day: Post something you did today that made you proud!

and I will report it here when the note is written and addressed. Accountability will help me get them done.

It's 6:41 a.m. I haven't done anything yet, so I will report back later.

SlyFoxy1: BRAVA! I hope this works...fingers crossed and PVs coming your way!

critterlover: sent you a PM. I hope it gets better.

I have nothing good to report. I'm very depressed, just trying to cope with the loss of my mom and the loss of my family (since they have rejected me due to huge differences we had during my mom's illness and death.) it is all I can do to get through each day.
I will write one thank you note. I really have to start them.
This is an excellent idea, this thread. thank you for starting it, kmk.

cl,

Your biggest achievement should be getting through the day and not beating yourself up. You could have done things differently, or maybe you wouldn't have, but what's done is done and you can't turn the clock back. Time only moves forward.

I accomplished something big at 4:30AM this morning.
As of that time, I can proudly say that I raised a child to adulthood.

On a very cold, blizzardy day, after 2 months of bed rest and 2 months of hospitalization, I gave birth to a beautiful little girl. Once we brought her into the world safely she became the biggest joy in our lives. For 18 years we have kept her safe and gently guided her towards adulthood. Today is her 18th birthday and we couldn't be prouder!

Happy birthday, kmk.

Well, it was yesterday... Spilling into today.

Went to a Super Bowl party yesterday, I agreed to bring all the desserts. Baked my @$$ off, made homemade cannolis, mocha chocolate cake, mini cheesecakes, shortbread cookies and fruit platter.
ALL without using any boxed mixes.

People raved about the desserts. My friend who hosted the party took some left overs to work & her collegues all raved. Hubby took some to his boss, he raved... Hubby gave some to an acquaintance ( who has tasted some of my other baked goods in the past) & who happens to be opening a high end restaurant and HE now wants to speak to ME about being the pastry chef!

Considering I have been out of work a year and was considering a career change, this could not come at a better time!! oh oh

Wish me luck!!

Wow...best of luck! Aren't you lucky the partygoers didn't eat them all too....

Well, I made enough for an army! Lol

My brother, husband and I all worked together without squabbling to start emptying my mom's basement. Filled one dumpster and we're about 1/3 done. But we all got along, my mom is still OK, and maybe perhaps she has a little more insight into the extent of her hoarding problem. Oh, and I didn't put my back out doing it.

I shot a man in Reno, just to watch him die.

oh, wait a minute. that wasn't me.

I signed up at a gym after wanting to do so for well over a year now. Did it. Done. Start tomorrow.

critterlover - I've been wondering how you were doing. I hope you are getting some help.

happy birth day, kmk!

I made my Mama an 87th birthday dinner and she loved it last night . She also liked her birthday presents (which, for those of you who know my Mama is a huge accomplishment for me).

Today, so far, leaned out 2 cabinets in my kitchen and updated our address book which has been long overdue!

I have not cursed yet today...and it's after noon!!! oh oh

I picked out all the wines today to be poured (and tried) at the CHS Fencing Parents Association wine tasting this Friday night. I even made a couple of Valentine's Day themed selections for the event (no, not Menage e Trois wines). Everything is just about in place for the event. (Once again, Id like to be an attendee at one my events.)

I did not honk or yell obscenities at the three women who stepped off the sidewalk and right into the path of my car as I was backing up into a parking spot. Then they proceeded to cross the street without bothering to go one block in either direction to an actual crosswalk. Instead these three clearly pregnant women with two more in strollers chose to jaywalk across busy Springfield Avenue in Springfield (right by Sophia's). Instead I said a prayer for their endangered offspring.

Happy birthday to kmkbaby number 1! That's wonderful.

[Technically I did this Sunday but my college kid received it today] I sent a home made, Valentine-themed "care package" to my kid at college that she adored! She'd had a crappy week so far, and she said it totally fixed it! I felt like a champ.

Not baked goods, but stuff I thought she'd like: a box of Glee! valentines, some heart shaped Reeses' p.b. cups, some other candy, heart-shaped window cling ons, a silly T shirt from target, protein bars she likes , and of course a valentine from her mommy.

cynicalgirl, what a good mom you are.

once in awhile, lisat, I get it right. Thanks!

My mom used to send my hand written cartoons of her and me. They were really bad and really embarrassing. You did good CynicalGirl!

I just made it home from the center of town, passed the train station, up Baker and along Valley without hitting any frickin' zombie ninja commuters…

But I do have to go back out in a half an hour so all bets are off...

LOVE this, all great and lovely accomplishments (well most...shooting a man in Reno just to watch him die is just not nice)!

I created my Personal Page for the Walk To Defeat ALS™ in Saddle Brook on June 3rd. This is the earliest I have ever started my fundraising. I am hoping this bodes well for the success of our team (once I get one, haha)! http://web.alsa.org/site/TR/Walks/GreaterNewYork?px=2673885&pg=personal&fr_id=7787

I put air in the car's tires (and hubster hadn't even nagged me to do it!).

After lunch today, I caught (in my cupped hand) my son's meal on the way back out. After dinner, I cleaned up the mess from my commando-potty-training daughter's shart. I think I deserve a medal.

Kmk, congratulations on the 18 year old!

kmk - happy birth day! cynical - well done! - it's as much fun putting those kind of gifts together as it is to get them, I think!

I had a day that went like clockwork...workout, shower, work emails, laundry/tidy, family call, saw two clients for their postpartum visit, home in time to walk dog before kids home, off to after school appointment for youngest, helped with homework, good, healthy dinner that everyone actually ate without complaint, kids showered while...I *think* I managed to get Verizon (after much complaint on my part over a screw up) to agree to replace iPhone without going through insurance...and they may be able to do it under warranty at a savings of $199! a great day! grin

I went for a walk at lunchtime and wound up at the Hudson, listening to waves.
