I just ordered delivery from Roman Gourmet through the Slice App. I didn't see the Bunny's option until a few minutes ago, so I may have to consider that in the future. Love their garlic salad!

Walked by this afternoon. The sandwich board was outside, advertising takeout.
Governor Murphy order the closure of all "non-essential" businesses but didn't specify if that includes restaurant takeout and delivery.
I feel like shutting down takeout and delivery is going to crush a lot of restaurants. I'm not an epidemiologist though so I don't know what risk it presents to continue to have these places operate.

The massive shutdown is going to affect all businesses, not just restaurants. Many operate on very low margins. In an earlier thread, I mentioned a breakfast/luncheon place In Oldwick. They closed Feb. 27th. The owner attributed it to the rent of $15,000 per month. You can be sure many other merchants and services are in trouble. Others will be in trouble if the shutdown goes beyond a couple of weeks.
Then there are the "essential " businesses that are open but experiencing less custom because their client base is unemployed.
The risk? I guess the problem would be if the kitchen staff comes down with the virus.
Once again, the Village Green has exactly the information I need . . . https://villagegreennj.com/food-wellness/with-dining-in-off-the-table-south-orange-maplewood-restaurants-pivot-to-take-out-delivery-and-delivery-in-south-orange-maplewood/

I just picked up takeout breakfast from Jackie and Son. Very easy to order online and pickup in the store. They called me with a question about the order in about a minute and my order was ready maybe 20 minutes later.
reservoir open for take out-not on the village green list ( we had it last nite) yum

Murphy is going to make a "major announcement" at 1:00 PM.

I am very aware of that, but this is a thread about restaurants.
what would be the best way to keep an online database of business closures? This Thread is helpful, but things can change and I might read a post from yesterday that says one place is open to find out it is closed today. Or I might be scrolling through looking for one particular business and not find it.
not to be too goofy, but something like V online McRib locator which has people list the locations and dates of availability. Is this something that maplewood online could host as say a Google Document or something along those lines?

"The non-essential business shut down takes effect at 9 p.m. on Saturday.
“All retail businesses must close,” Murphy said. The order includes a number of exceptions including grocery stores, liquor stores, pharmacies, home improvement and restaurants that offer takeout."

Anyone know what the deal is with Wawa? Sounds like they're open - just wondered how stocked they are and how they're dealing with sandwich orders.

When you order take out what precautions are you implementing?
We unwrap and re-plate everything, dispose of the bags, then wash our hands thoroughly.
Mozzarella is doing takeout and delivery. You can order online and provide your credit card to pay/tip and I assume by phone also, so delivery is contact-free.

We ordered from there for the first time last weekend. The Grandma’s Square Pizza was very good.

We had eaten in there several times before getting delivery this week. Everything we've had has been great and I sure want their business to survive, so they will definitely be on our list to patronize through this period.
