What about Peachtree windows? archived

We are considering replacing some of our rotted windows with Peachtree double hung aluminum-clad windows. Does anyone have any experience with Peachtree windows and/or installers?

Thanks.

I haven't heard of Peachtree, but I can offer a strong recommendation for you to consider Roeland Enterprises out of Rockaway NJ (www.roeland.com 973- 586 -7900). We had a great experience with the company and the windows they installed in our home. Numbers don't lie..here they are.

In the 3 winters before we got the new windows, our house's average oil usage was  890 gallons each winter.  The new replacement windows were installed in mid-December 2007 and that season we only used 753 gallons...a 15% reduction from the previous usage!  And the windows hadn't even gone in until December, a few months into the cold season.

Last winter (2008 in to 2009, our first FULL winter season with the new windows) we only used 497 gallons...a 44% savings from the average usage before the windows were installed!

Last winter (the first full winter season with the new windows) we only used 497 galloons...a 44% savings from the average usage before the windows were installed!

The windows themselves are truly amazing. We noticed a difference right away...there were none of those "drafty" zones we had felt before. For you techies out there, here are the specs:

Two panes of low-e glass with Xenon Gas (10 times the efficiency of Argon Gas)
R value =10
U = .1
Polyvinyl sealing
Uses R-25 foam instead of hard foam

The owner, Arnie Roeland, was honest, fair and did not give us a hard sell. He took a lot of time with his presentation, was very knowledgeable and answered all our questions. His crew was excellent, professional and polite...they installed 26 windows in 3 days during some very inclement weather! Throughout the process, it was clear that Mr. Roeland cared about his workmanship, his customers, and the future of his business. He has been around for a long time, and offers a free labor warranty matching the length of the manufacturer's warranty. All we have to do is call if there is a problem with the windows and he will come and fix it. For example we had a small moisture leak into a wall near one of the window frames. We weren't sure was caused by a backup in the gutter over the window, or from the window not being set quite flush. But as we had the gutters cleaned, Arnie came right out and re-sealed the window just in case, free of charge. We're very happy with our windows, Arnie's service and the money we're saving!
