West O. Restos II

This thread deserves more play than it gets in the "West Orange" dept., so here's a link, if you're curious...

BTW: Anybody besides me hoping  (against all odds) that the latest incarnation of the State Diner survives & thrives?

I just noticed this last week when I drove by. How long has it been open?

Opening was last apring. Here's the menu...

what’s the diffrence between the two threads?  Its a little confusing.  You edit and change the caregory on the first one.

Hope State Diner does ok.  There's been a lot of turnover at that location the past few years.

Sorry if you were confused, @Jamie. I started the "W.O." thread to discuss eateries I hoped would be of interest to W. Oranginos/Oranginas, but it's been languishing there, so I started this one to target the "F,D, & T" audience... Please don't ban me.

BTW: Remember Gamburgers?

Is that taylor ham on top of that thing?

Yup. It's a Gamburger w/cheese...

Throw an egg on that and now you're talking.

So this evening we're joining our Bergen County foodie friends (Dr. Foodnazi and her lovely husband Dr. Whyme) for dinner at Rezza. Server hearts in Roseland should be beating just a bit faster tonight.  I'll file my usual report sometime later...

BTW: The Italian phrase on Rezza's logo ("IN BOCCA AL LUPO") means "Good Luck!" in the same way that "Break a leg!" does.

OMG. Nothing atrocious to report: Although she was a first-timer there, and despite Rezza's being nearly empty last night at 8:15, upon entering the place Dr. Foodnazi blithely overrode our hostess' table suggestion, advising her that her party must be seated in the quietest corner possible. My long-suffering old pal Dr. Whyme (as usual) shrugged, smiled, and  followed, as did Mrs. Soda & myself...

I ordered the Grilled Sausage & Sautéed Broccoli Rabe appetizer, with Rezza's totally awesome Spaghetti Carbonara as my entrée. Dr. Whyme asked for a Caesar Salad & the Veal Parm, and The Ladies split grilled octopus, faro salad, shrimp, & polenta appetizers. We drank Prosecco & a nice Chilean Cabernet, and closed the place. Dr. Foodnazi sent nothing back, but I'm not in shock: Rezza rocks.

You'll say so, too. Go.

I haven't been there since it re-opened, but I'm pretty sure that's the menu from the previous version.
