We Did It. Maplewood Village Moves Into Round 2 for Best Downtown in NJ

Thanks for your votes for Maplewood Village as Best Downtown.

Round 2 of NJ Monthly's "Downtown Showdown" just started – we now are in the top 8 downtowns.

Vote again for Maplewood as Best Downtown. In Round 2 we are up against Princeton.

Voting starts today, September 8th and ends at noon on Monday, September 14th.

We need your vote again for the Best Downtown. Please share with your friends, families and co-workers.

Let us know after you vote.

Thanks and Go Maplewood.

Voted and posted update to prior thread.

Voted in the second round.

Voted (only for the bracket containing Maplewood this time!) oh oh

Awesome! I voted again for Maplewood! smile

These contests seem so silly! (but I voted anyway)

Ditto on both parts

Lambertville wuz robbed.

Voted for Maplewood.

Voted, but I do recommend the Jack Rose cocktail at Mistral in Princeton

I voted and only for Maplewood.

I am beginning, however, to rethink just voting for one of the pairings. It might make sense to vote for the weaker of the two in the other pairings...especially when one of them might be larger with potentially more votes.

I love maplewood more, wouldn't want to live in summit, and voted for maplewood. But summit does have so much more stuff! And a fabulous farmer's market!

It may not be just a question of the resident population in a given town. I'd be interested in knowing just how many participants are actually voting in this contest and approximately how many of them live in towns other than those selected as candidates in this contest.

Since we are one of two surviving candidate towns in the region served by MOL, it might be more effective to move this thread to Virtual Cafe and to have the header announcing this contest appear in more than just the Maplewood Community Discussion Page on this message board.

I think the OP, Vic, would prefer leaving the thread in the Maplewood Only category. cheese

I see he has started a separate thread in the South Orange section of the message board.

Hmmm....the choice is hard this week (says this Princeton High graduate).

Summit vs. Maplewood was the toughest possible first round, IMHO. Now that we're past that, let's go for the win. Congrats Mayor De Luca!

My thoughts (and votes) exactly
