Valley St Accident

Avoid Valley as of 2pm. 3 car accident opposite Rynda/Broadview.

Wow, there  was another accident around the same vicinity around 10:45 am. A pickup truck slammed into the back of a car.

Was right behind this by about 30 seconds... looked like an SUV slammed into a Subaru (hope the mom and child was ok--was about to get out but MPD arrived just then and they seemed physically ok) who then hit the car in front of them.  Presumably traffic was stopped for someone turning and the last driver didn't react?  Was a nice shot in any case.

That is a tricky area because you have three streets in quick succession (Rynda, Broadview, S. Pierson) plus Pierson coming into Valley close to S. Pierson but not directly across from one another.  Plus the fact that everyone drives way too fast on that section of Valley.

There was another accident in just about the same location on Sunday evening. Car flipped onto its roof and almost went through one of our neighbors bedrooms (from the looks of the marks on their lawn at least). I'm never going to let my kids walk on that stretch of Valley. Ever.

Really? I live right there and never heard a thing!

I have always found that stretch of Valley Street to be a a safe place to walk, just don't try to cross Valley Street anywhere between Tuscan and Millburn avenues. Prospect Street has become much more dangerous for pedestrians lately, yet it remains much more heavily pedestrian-traveled than the stretch of Valley Street mentioned in the OP.

Around midnight. Had headphones on and heard something. Didn't realize what it was until reading the report on Village Green.

Thanks. Yeesh! Just read the Village Green article. Many people don't realize just how steep those hills are, and in bad conditions like we had on Sunday, there's a good chance of losing control if you brake too hard or simply don't watch how fast you're going. Obviously there's the reckless driving element to consider, too.

For obvious reasons, though, I have no problem with walking that stretch of Valley and do so on a daily basis.

I walk it every day too. I don't know why there's been so many accidents there in such a short span of time, though.
