Unadvertised Europe fare sale?

I just booked a trip on United for spring break and the fare was 25-30% lower than the fares I had seen over the past month or so. Still not cheap but saving $300-$400 per ticket is a GOOD thing!

is this on the United website?

what did you pay? Generally, you can find most cities for around $1000-1200 RT. That's been a steady price past few years

Yes, United's website, nonstop flight from EWR.

Con-Yes, that's what I've seen which is why I was glad to get $800 (last night and still shows on website this morning.

Until you get on the plane and realize they've added a $300 seatbelt fee.

That's the typical price I get (800-something) for EWR/LHR off-season travel.

Yesterday Hubster booked on United an open jaw Newark to Heathrow, returning Milan to Newark for about $550. The price is higher today but still an excellent fare.  He found some other great fares, but that one suited our desires.  Yes, some great fares if you are ready to jump on them when th show up.

$550 is excellent. $800 pretty good too.

Where are you going? That price is amazing for United. We typically find r/t to Milan in $1200-1600 per range. We've been flying Emirates out of JFK as a result.

Barcelona. MB--LHR is the most competitive route from here so those fares are almost always better.

I think krnl's experience along with mine show some much anticipated fare reductions.

Even on domestic fares, I've noticed United fares out of EWR have been ridiculously low.  Normally United and Delta EWR to ATL prices were about the same; lately I've been seeing United prices $150-200 LESS than Delta.

Agreed, air has come down quite a bit especially the Caribbean and southern US

I just got an email today about a 5-day fare sale to Europe ... maybe you got the "soft opening" for that.

Interesting about BCN... just looked for an April fare a few days ago and got in the neighborhood of $1200-1600 in economy.  Fares to EDI and CDG were similarly priced
