Tree trimmer recommendation

Hi-we have some trees on our property that need to be cut.

Can anyone recommend a reputable tree trimmer that serves Maplewood?

Also, does Maplewood have a town arborist? If so, how can they be reached?

I live in South Orange and I use Frank's Tree Service in Summit. I've had them take down quadruple lead trees that were hit during storms and hung precariously over my house. I've used them for years. They have their own bucket trucks. Many smaller companies have to rent them.

check with DPW (it used to be Mr. Lamb).

We used Maplewood Tree last time.

Frank’s has an excellent reputation. (A complication regarding tree work at the moment is that with so many town dumps closed, tree firms are often left with nowhere for dumping the vegetative waste. Multiple incidents in my town of huge logs from fresh cut trees being dumped overnight in wooded areas. That said, from personal dealings with Frank, that’s  not something he would do!)

Recently used Frank's for a complicated job -- taking down a huge double-trunk oak hanging over power lines. Their aerial workers could have a career with Cirque de Soleil -- amazingly coordinated effort between folks on the ground and in the tree to lower every limb to ground safely. It was expensive but a quality job. (I got a bunch of estimates; Frank's was in the middle of the pack and came highly recommended.)

I spoke to the town arborist several times as I was deciding whether to remove the tree (which was cracked at the base and becoming a hazard) -- his name escapes me but if you contact DPW, they'll give him a message to phone you back. He works for several towns; is in Maplewood just a day a week, I think.
