Edited to add: No, it's an emu .. but I'm not sure that it's not a computer-generated image rather than the real thing!

It's not unusual to be driving through parts of rural and outback Australia and find a flock of emus on the road, or just off to the side. They're not the most intelligent birds, and it's not unusual to find them suddenly veering across in front of you as you're travelling along.
