C'mon Dave, you just knew I'd carry the PP flag on this one...

I was scrolling through just to get to the end and post this.  Swore no one would have beat me to it.  Nice.

Oooh, I had forgotten about this one. I like it. I need to go back and listen to some Tull.

With the distance of time and resensitzing that comes from not hearing them so damn much, some of those classic rock albums, including Aqualung, are darn good.  This is coming from someone who is generally against the classic rock myopia that afflicts many of my generational peers.

My entry in the most obscure category is:

Certainly about Mary...

I was waiting for that one.

(Personally, I’m abstaining from any Mary Janes, Lous, Anns, Jos or Kate Olsens. Just a hand of straight stud for me, thank you.)

way too much samples to listen to, but

“...but it was Mary, Mary, long before the fashions changed  when society and proprietary changed it to Marie” is from a song featured in a Hollywood movie - maybe Easter Parade — back in the day — waay way back.

mtierney - We used to have the sheet music for that song. The title is Mary's a Grand old Name written by that great songwriter George M Cohan. If you google it you can hear the melody, a melody not to be forgotten. It was in the movie Yankee Doodle Dandy.

Good one.  Was hoping to some standards and traditional songs would show up.  Watched YDD this year on July 4th instead of going to see fireworks.  A great corny old American movie.  Worthy just for Cagney's weird cray leg dancing style.

Did I miss this earlier?
