Are members at Maplewood Pool allowed to go to SO pool and vice versa/what's the latest on that?

Only if a member of the other pool brings you as a guest on a guest pass. (Unless something has changed very recently.)

If your children go to South Mountain school and you live in Maplewood, you can opt to use South Orange pool instead of Maplewood pool but at MW pool prices.

A few years ago, the two towns started a reciprocal program where South Orange residents can buy a membership to the Maplewood Pool; Maplewood residents can buy a membership to the South Orange pool. The costs for either membership is the same as the cost for a membership to the Maplewood Pool. Anyone can sign up for this, it doesn’t depend on where your child goes to school. There are limited number of memberships for the reciprocal program; so if you are going to sign up, do it now (and take advantage of the discounted Early Bird rates – good until May 1).

If you register on the Community Pass website, you will see options for "South Orange Pool membership".
