Soft Paws claw covers for cats?

Has anyone used these on their cats claws?

Pros and cons?

Tks,
Tabby

that is a BRILLIANT product, i wish puppy love had them and would apply them during the grooming process!!

looking forward to see if anyone has used them -- i think i may buy some for my sons dog -- now what color/design ?

I think someone discussed this product once on MOL. If I remember correctly, the cat giggled, and promptly removed them! Did you Google search reviews? Also, it was a number of years ago, so maybe the product has been improved since then.

How would you get them on your cat without ending up like a victim of Freddy Kruger?

Exactly. I figure if a cat will let you put the Soft Paws on them, you have just as good a shot at clipping the offending claws, and the results would last just as long.

When one of my cats' claws get so long as to be a pain to them or me, I ask the vet to add a professional claw clipping to a check-up. wink

A couple of fosters in the rescue group I work with swear by them. They need to be replaced regularly, so I guess the cost can add up, but otherwise, they seem to be a very good product. The vet usually puts them on the first time, but owners can be taught to apply them after that.

I was hoping that Puppy Love would be able to put them on at least for the first time since they do clip cats claws....and not all of my kitties like getting their claws done...LOL

I donated towels ro Puppy Love for their foster kitties.....they have and do apply Soft Paws .

And they probably charge less for putting them on than the vet would. oh oh

They come in different sizes and can be used on dogs. Try Ebay

My cat never liked them, bit them off. A good nail clipper works well, used regularly the cats dont mind, also lots of other stuff to scratch is key. Start small if you never clipped there nails before, just taking the sharp ends off is all thats needed.

After losing a nice leather chair to my clawing cats, I seriously considered these. But then I read the reviews on Amazon, and they scared me away.

My cat is perfectly happy to have me clip his claws. Clipped claws still do plenty of furniture damage, in my experience. He also manages to get the Soft Paws off in no time. Not a problem getting them on, but they don't stay there, also in my experience. Others, obviously, have better luck.

I used to clip my cats' claws, at least the ones that would allow it. Then I realized that the cats that allowed it were not the cats that were scratching the furniture. None of them would have anything to do with the claw covers.

This sounds about right to me, but it depends on the cat's personality.
