Sirens

We’ve been hearing what we assume are fire sirens for quite awhile. Anyone know what is happening and where? 

I saw the Fire Department EMT vehicle racing down Valley Street, sirens blaring, this morning when I took my walk. Same yesterday. While we are in a state of emergency, our police and fire services are likely responding to a lot of calls.  I suspect we will be hearing more not less of them unfortunately.

An local firefighter I know told me they are all gearing up for more calls. Not directly related with illnesses, but because when people are stressed the way they are currently, they can worry that a situation is an emergency even if it might not be. And, of course, first responders are much better than us in the general public at determining what makes an actual emergency. So probably a lot of siren sounds in our near future, but hopefully not having to respond to anything drastic!
