Sidewalk Addition

I am curious as to why a sidewalk was added to the area on Ridgewood Rd. between Hickory Rd. and Curtiss Pl? That side of Ridgewood has no other (as far as I can tell) sidewalks that connect in the immediate area. It seems awfully random and if put in by the town perhaps a poor allocation of funds.

I believe it is because there cannot be a crosswalk at the bottom of Hickory (due to the curve of the road) so they are providing a way for pedestrians to walk over to Curtis to cross at a proper crosswalk if they
wish.

Sorry, but not sure what curve you are talking about. If the intent is that people coming down Hickory will now walk to the Curtiss crosswalk to get to the other side of Ridgewood it will barely be used. Ripping up a nice grassy strip for 1 block of sidewalk seems wasteful and a shame.

Is that on Fred Profeta's property?? Could be a sign. oh oh oh oh oh oh

Frankly, for safety's sake there ought to be sidewalk along that entire stretch.

Agreed....think about the kids walking home from Jefferson. In the winter it has not been easy.

There is a sidewalk. It is on the other (east) side.
