Ricalton Square Activity Sunday Morning

I'm putting this in the non-political section, because I'm more interested in people knowing this event will be happening as they plan their weekend.  I have a feeling Maplewood could get very crowded Sunday morning due to the event as well as a particularly well-known feature..

There's going to be a SOMA Action event on Sunday at Ricalton Square.  It's going to feature a special guest from 11-12 am.  Some of you may have heard of an inflatable effigy of a New York real estate developer and reality TV host who recently made a foray into politics.  Well, it's going to be gracing the center of Maplewood for a little while on Sunday.

While he won't be filled with helium to hover over the town as a balloon he will be inflated and seated in the square and observing the events.  I wouldn't be surprised to see some local media coverage.

Tomorrow starting at 11:00 am is the Art Walk in Maplewood Village.  Lots of persons could be expected to be there even without the SOMA Action event.

Let's see if we can get the cameras down to the Art Walk!

According to SOMA Action’s Facebook page, their meeting is at 1:30 in the Woodland. Maybe the nj.com story has the blimp’s location wrong.  I would hate for the Art Walk to get overshadowed.

NO, I think SOMA Action is having the blimp in Ricalton Square between 11 and 12, then meeting later at the Woodland (in the smaller room - parlor - as there's a home expo thing going on in the lain ballroom of the Woodland).

No doubt this spectacle will change the views of the one out of ten residents of the town who voted for Trump.

Meh. I'm not really interested in the political trappings, more the effect this will have on getting around town tomorrow morning.

My impression from an article I read was that Trump baby would be available at 1:30 p.m.

I just received a town alert stating that Maplewood Avenue will be closed today between Baker and Inwood until 6 pm.

Cool. I’d been told they weren’t closing Maplewood Ave this year. I’m glad they decided to do it.

Where is the best place to park?

 Probably by the train station.

I would think Trump supporters are well-acquainted with the concept of trolling.

It's a great day for the Art Walk. We drove down Ridgewood earlier and I could see that it looks very week attended.

Art Walk was very well attended.  Lots of positive feedback from persons passing the display where I was working.

In case you missed it - saw this post online.
