Recycling may be picked up tomorrow - 9/7

Please be advised that, due to Labor Day scheduling, Basso Waste Removal will continue its pickup of recycling throughout Maplewood Township tomorrow, September 7. If your recycling is not picked up during today's run, please leave it curbside and it will be removed before end of day tomorrow.

Recycling rules need more consistency. Didn't see any recycling cans out this morning, I guess Columbus Day wasn't a holiday and they picked up normally.

I missed it, too, but in defense of the DPW the schedule is clearly spelled out on the website:

"If any of the following Holidays fall on a collection day: New Year's
Day, Memorial Day, 4th of July, Thanksgiving, Labor Day, or Christmas,
collections will be on the following day after the Holiday. For any
other Holiday (not listed) that falls on a collection day, collections
will remain on the scheduled day."

I meant consistent as in all Monday holidays get picked up on Tuesday. But I have put it in my calendar so I'm informed going forward for Xmas which is on a Sunday so they should be picking up on that Monday correct?

Twice a week customers who live in the section of town with Monday pick-up, have their second pick-up of the week on Thursday.  Thus Monday customers lose out on Thursday holidays as well.

That depends.  Labor agreements frequently have the provision that when a holiday falls on a Sunday, employees get the next day (Monday) off.  Not sure if that applies to religious holidays or to WM/WI.

Welp, my request for simplification is renewed just when I thought I had finally gotten the hang of it.

Christmas is a federal holiday which will be observed this year on Monday, December 26th.  So I assume that means that it will also be observed for the collection days.  (Same for New Years Day one week later.)  Does anyone know otherwise?  I don't think it would be right to force the sanitation workers to give up that holiday.

Move to the side of Maplewood where it gets picked up on Tuesday and AAAAALLL your problems will be over.

You are mixing up Recycling with one provider which is once a week with once or twice a week garbage customers for different days with two different customers. I have Waste Management once a week and it is on Wednesday. You are confusing the issue Joan.
