Police matter

I heard from a friend that gets police report about something that was found in the water behind the Library (being vague here on purpose), but haven't heard/seen anything else so just curious, as I'm out of town.

I thought this was a different discussion...

Does anyone know what really happened?

still appears that there is no information on the what or how, but the police know who it was:

Contrary to what that article says, now that his name is out there it's pretty easy to do a bit of googling and figure out a likely explanation for what happened.

What should I google to find out what really happened?

Nothing, unless you're into guessing games... while it's not hard to concoct a likely set of scenarios based upon some digging, I'm not sure what that does or why that matters.

I'm not sure it's anybody's business. Not a murder or loose railing on the footbridge or anything likely to effect me in the future - leave the poor guy alone.

This, may he rest in peace, no need for morbid curiosity.

Condolences to his friends and family.

I knew him sightly. May he rest in peace. Condolences to his family. Obit in today's Star Ledger.

Why is it so horrible to wonder why he died? If your father or mother or spouse dies, people ask what happened? It's not necessarily morbid curiosity, it's just curiosity. When I see an obituary of someone who "died suddenly," I often wonder. I hope whatever it was was painless in mind and body.

I think it's natural to wonder what happened but we shouldn't speculate here.  The guy has a family and friends.

That's a good point.

I agree.  It is not horrible to wonder what happened.  I want to know what happened.  I am not going to speculate either.... because I don't know.  I do pray that it was painless and he rests in peace.  My prayers and condolences go out to his family at this time.
