Pets for adoption

Some great dogs in East Orange shelter, have been waiting for a year.

This shelter has almost no traffic so I'm hoping to give them some exposure here.

The shelter is located at 133 Midland Ave. East Orange NJ

Open 8 -3 just pull on the gate and maybe a good idea to call.

When adopted from the shelter animals are spayed or neutered and vaccinated.

Rescues can pull for free.

Jordan gives kisses to strangers! A sweet girl who is stressed at the shelter. Possibly best in a home without cats or other dogs.

Tanner is described as a gentle beefcake who prefers affection to treats. He has done well with other dogs and is friendly meeting new people.

Prince is a dog friendly Pocket Pittie who aims to please, particularly if there is a treat to be had.

Stix is a dog friendly guy who is a staff and volunteer favorite, who would be in a home if it were not for landing in an out of the way shelter with limited hours. He's be great to join you on the coach while your binging on Netflix.

Cairo, just look at that face! He does well on pack walks but can be a bit bossy with other dogs. A friendly guy who loves to learn.

Zoey is a gentle affectionate soul who is said to soak up all affection. She has been a little fearful of other dogs at the shelter but she may gain confidence when she finds her home after such a long wait. How do you find a home if no one knows you even exist?

Bobby calls himself middle aged but maybe he is not telling us exactly how old he is! A Pocket Pittie he would love to come home with you. Isn't small of stature but big of heart just what you are looking for?

Roxy is called the Velcro dog. She yearns to be out of the shelter and has been waiting since 2018. With all of the dogs getting adopted from big shelters open 7 days a week, she sits with little exposure just because she lives outside of SOMA. East Orange is not so far away.

I've never owned a pit - but so many of these dogs are just so sweet.  Wish I could save them all.

Is this an indoor or outdoor shelter?  I often have linens to donate, and I wonder if they would be in need of blankets, pillows, sheets, etc.

 Its an indoor shelter. I'll ask a friend if they take blankets. Usually all shelters do. You have no idea how bleak it is with no foot traffic. I'll post as soon as I get an answer.
