Pesticide Spraying at Maplewood Park?

There are two small signs (easy to miss) at the north edge of the big fields at Memorial Park (near the basketball court).  They say that pesticide/insecticides were sprayed on 6/28 and that the signs should be removed in 72 hours.  It isn’t clear exactly what area was sprayed.

Does anyone know if it is safe for kids to play on the field?  Does this mean that all Saturday sports need to be canceled?

Check with the Memorial Park Conservancy.  They should have accurate information on what was sprayed, where it was sprayed, and what health risks if any are presented by the material used.  Health Department may also know.

I have to hope that if the fumes from the sprays were that toxic, they would close the park altogether.

Most towns spray in public places to mitigate bugs....and we should too. The mosquitoes are awful!

The fire dept has list of all chemicals sprayed in town.

I once got the list for the golf course. 3 pages long, which was rather frightening.
