Ruby Dee, an actress who defied segregation-era stereotypes by landing lead roles in movies and on Broadway while maintaining a second high-profile career as a civil rights advocate, including emceeing the 1963 March on Washington, died June 11 at her home in New Rochelle, N.Y. She was 91.

She passed June 11, 2014

Thanks Stucco. For some reason this was in my FB feed today.

I call this re-grieving

Snort. Thank you very much, Facebook. Or was it a slow news day, so they were repeating events of note for that date?

What's really weird is that two different friends on Facebook, on in S.O. and one in upstate NY posted on the passing of Joe Cocker last night. He actually passed away last December.

I think part of what happens is how the 'related reading' links come up in all our online stuff; people see a headline even though the actual news is old and spread it around as if it's fresh, so the re-grieving spreads anew.

I forgive you, LL_!
