Union Ave. That one's been there for months.

Prospect. It's an obstacle course.

Maplewood Ave, especially the axle bender with the cones in it.

Add your own.

How many newly paved roads are being cut up by the water company contractor?

At one stage, many years ago, a regular columnist on one of my local newspapers asked readers to write into him  reporting on the duration between a road or footpath being newly finished and then dug up by one of the local utilities.

It was a long time ago, but the shortest duration was in the order of just a few hours!

Prospect Street (Maplewood) is on the list for repaving in 2026.

That's nice. But it doesn't solve the problem of potholes that are currently damaging cars.

Once it is paved, I'm confident one of the utilities will dig it up within weeks.

while walking on Maplewood Ave, twice I've seen cars hit the cones in that pothole. A person really can't be paying any attention to the road if you plow into one of those things.

The pothole crew doesn’t work much during the snow season but if a pothole is large enough to fit a traffic cone, it’s time for an emergency patch of some sort.

it's been filled with ice for weeks. I think they need a day above freezing long enough for it to melt

I saw a DPW truck and crew on Prospect today, and they seemed to be shoveling some filler into a pothole. So, hopefully these are being addressed.  grin

The crew on Prospect was finally removing the leaves that had been buried under ice for weeks.

That one near the intersection has been patched so many times it just keeps coming back.

I would add Springfield Ave too especially heading toward Irvington. Feels like you are swerving every few feet.

Also Valley Street by the train station. Easy to miss at night and it hits hard.

Definitely overdue for real fixes not just cones and temporary patches.
