NJ Transit- When back to “normal”?

so, now that the work is done, when does it go back to normal? From my station in Westfield, still running single story trains only (way overcrowded), still scheduled cancelled trains and still not running the single seat trains (no change in Newark). Are they going to go back to “normal” or is this the hell we’ll have from now on? I am hoping since they stop honoring the discounted tickets today, this means normal service resumes tomorrow?

service on the Raritan Valley line is supposed to be back to regular schedules in March.  I don't know when things will be "normal" again however.  The maintenance on the entire system has been deferred for years, so equipment failures are likely going to be more frequent than they were 10+ years ago.  And those issues can't be turned around in months, but more like years.  Add in the occasional downed tree taking out power lines, or other weather related delays, lack of train operators, and there are going to be disruptions.

that said, even in its less than optimal condition, we shouldn't have to endure anything like the past six months of PTC installation-related disruptions.

The other thing that won't be quickly resolved is the crew shortages, which I think are responsible for most of our cancellations. They just don't have enough engineers, as they train them and then lose them to higher-paying transit systems.

And finally the federal government is still starving Amtrak, so Northeast corridor repairs and upgrades are still deferred.
