New year menus? Recipes? Apple & Honey Charlotte??

Anyone got new ideas to share? Or sudden inspiration?

We were going to join a Chabad gathering nearby for Sunday night, but I see that our city council has a wonderful free program of salsa dancing in a beachside park all afternoon. To be honest, it sounds like much more fun - I think hubby and me, and my brother’s family will picnic and dance in the afternoon, then dine casually en famille in the evening. We’ll be more serious the next day, eh?!

I’ve shopped today for the traditional short cuts: pre-made slab honey cake, ordered challot, I have fish & chicken, veg, apples, honey...I’m sure I can work out something edible...

I picked up a magazine and saw a recipe for Raisin Challah Apple Betty that sounds stupendous, but i haven't made it yet.  There's honey in it, and almonds; and if i don't find raisin challah, raisins can always be added....
