Need house tested for mold

We are in need of mold testing for our leaky home. Please let me know what company you used and any pros or cons. I know there is mold in the basement, but I would really like an air test as well since we now have roof leaks. Oh and recommendations for a company to remediate the mold.

If there is mold in the basement it is likely that a mold test conducted in the rest of the house would be positive. That won't tell you much. Fix the leaks, remediate the mold in the basement, then test the air.

Mold testing and remediation could be anything from hundreds to tens of thousands. How much do you want to spend? How risk-averse are you? Have you checked your homeowner's policy for mold coverage? You might have $5 or $10K coverage.

take care of your basement mold ... if it is not a large area you may be able to do it yourself with ultra high strength bleach ... but if you do not resolve any active leaks, your work will be wasted as mold will return ...

I used Mike Misko (201-615-9159) last year to test for mold in a house I was renting. He is very knowledegable. The cost was just under $600.
