Need a New Television

Our TV and it’s multiple remotes is constantly breaking down, not responding (turns on but not off) and such

Is there such a thing as a simple on/off TV that runs on a single remote and doesn’t require a hornet’s best of wires???

I’m desperate

Yes.  If you have cable (FIOS or Comcast) the remote you get from the cable company should be all you need.

Hmm we already have FIOS And that part is not a problem. That’s our main remote.

Then there’s one for volume, another for movies, and a fourth to turn the screen on and off...

Thanks but that would NEVER cut it on movie night with our crowd...

If your FIOS remote is like mine, it controls the volume on the TV (volume plus/minus toggle).  There is a button (DVD) that controls the DVD (for movies), and a TV button that controls the TV screen.  The power button turns everything on and off.  Ask Joe if he can check your TV settings to determine if your TV can be set up this way.

Getting new tv is costly and you will have the same issues as all devices fight for control. Instead, you need a universal remote that controls everything

I got the elite for $250 and it is very easy to switch from Cable to Apple tv to DVD to Wii and most importantly dead easy to set up - they have a huge database and you just select your make model and it will know the controls

scully can you describe how you watch?

You have Fios. And presumably a bluray or DVD player?

Do you stream anything like Amazon, Hulu or Netflix (not to mention Disney+)?

I have cable specifically Optimum Altice. I simply use one remote. Vizio TV, one of the cheaper TVs and I'm happy with it. They sell it at Costco.
