Nearby Restaurants open Thanksgiving???

My family has decided to eat out for Thanksgiving this year. I know that Park Wood Diner will be open and serving traditional Thanksgiving fare, and that may be where we go, but wondering what other choices we have?

According to the above article, Above Restaurant and Par 440 (at the golf course on Parsonage Hill Road just west of the overpass over Route 24) are open on Thanksgiving.  I think the dining room at Above has a nice, "special occasion" atmosphere.

Verjus is open but probably most seats taken. I'm sure that would be the most delicious dinner you could find.

strip house in west orange.

The Park Wood will only be open till 2.  The Huck Finn in Union will have normal hours and will be open all day.  Still calling around.

Lithos in Roseland, a bit of a trek but excellent

we did a buffet at Winberries in Summit last year.  It was ok, not great, but reasonably priced compared to other places in the area.

If you want to travel a bit we've enjoyed the Old Mill Inn in Basking Ridge (I think they have both a sit down and a buffet).

Above actually does a decent job although the service is hit or miss.  certainly better than Huck finn diner.

Old Mill Inn is fun and they do a good job.

I have been looking at restaurants for Wednesday night since we will seeing a play in DUMBO. If you are willing to go there, I noticed a couple will be serving dinners on Thanksgiving.

I got an email yesterday with the menu for Becco. If you venture into the city, it sounded delicious!

I think we are going to go to Essex House.

It was pretty good! Lots of choices from traditional turkey/stuffing/mashed potatoes to pastas to other meats (ham, roast beef, fish, pork) plus a salad bar and expansive dessert table. It was my first time eating out for Thanksgiving and I missed the home-based meal, but I didn't miss the work to prepare it!
